My Dearest Uncle Ian,
My chosen godfather I will miss you as you pass onwards to the higher realm. You visited me in my dream the day you passed, my mother also did this the morning she passed whilst I slept in the same room as her. I know my mother would have been waiting for you upon your arrival with open arms among the other greats that have passed before us.
I’m sad to see you go and will miss having you here, but happy to know that you are finally free of discomfort and onwards to your next journey. Thank you for being such an amazing human to myself and my family, you were always there for all of us, especially my mother, and always had my father’s back through life.
Thank you for showing me the early ropes in the maritime field, and sharing the adventures around the world on different amazing vessels, in different world class locations, with your special unique friends and crew members.Your involvement shaped me as a person from such a young age and helped make me into the man I am today.
I will never forget Maui, Palau, and the early days in Ft. Lauderdale, or Antibes. I feel truly blessed to have had you in my life and always looked at you like a father and best friend. May the seas and winds be kind to you and I will continue to do my very best to make you proud in my years ahead. I will keep in touch with May for you and check on her as I know you would want this done.
